The Grapevine Garden Club strives to support the goals and projects of the national, regional and state garden clubs.  The Club is a  member of District II and the Garden Club Council of Fort Worth.

National Garden Clubs, Inc.

The National Garden Clubs, Inc. is a non-profit educational organization with its headquarters in St. Louis, MO. It is composed of 50 state garden clubs, 7,183 member garden clubs, 221,943 members and recognizes 447 international affiliate clubs.  NGC provides education, resources and national networking opportunities for its members to promote the love of gardening, floral design, civic and environmental responsibility.

Barbara D. May is NGC President. Her theme is "Nurture the Earth--Plant Natives".  Educating our members and the public in areas such as native plants and trees, nurturing the earth, water conservation and creating friendly habitats for wildlife are just a few topics that are important to Garden Club members.  Our commitment to the community to help with gardening needs and landscaping with native plants is a high priority.

The Grapevine Garden Club is applying for The Principal Financial Group Civic Development Grant Grogram "Let's Go Native" to help fund the new native plant garden surrounding the Ed and Edith Pewitt Education Center at the Grapevine Garden Club Botanical Gardens.

South Central Region

The South Central Region is the regional affiliate of the National Garden Clubs, Inc.  This region is composed of four states; Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Linda Whetsell is the South Central Region Director.  Her theme is "Going Wild With Natives." In support of Linda's theme, native plants grown in member gardens will be offered for sale at the club's Annual Plant Sale in April.

Texas Garden Clubs, Inc.

The Texas Garden Clubs, Inc. promotes the love of gardening across the state.  President, Judy Keillor's theme is "Living the Challenge--Let's Get Growing". She challenges clubs to increase membership, plant pocket gardens and to conserve water. Grapevine Garden Club members continue to bring friends and family to club meetings and drop-in guests are always welcome.  Since 2006 membership has increased from 119 to 145!  We are growing friends, good times, hard work, purposeful activity, community outreach and great programs.

District II

Marty Swindell is Director of District II.  Her theme is "Our Future Through Membership and Youth" and her project is Shoebox Gardens.  In support of Marty's project, the Grapevine Garden Club will collect and distribute garden supplies donated by members to the Junior Master Gardener program at Morningside Elementary School in Fort Worth.

Garden Club Council of Fort Worth

President Barbara Baker is President of the Garden Club Council of Fort Worth.  Her theme is "Networking With OTHERS."  In support of Barbara's Victory Box project, the Grapevine Garden Club will collect supplies for US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
